24th - 30th May 2010

Another week started and it certainly looked as if our golden weather was over. We have been so lucky so far so we cant complain.

The cladding and windows were starting to appear and as soon as each window was installed, Dave was close behind with his pot of polyurethane and a paint brush to sort out the reveals.

It was all rather complicated ...

... but looked rather good when it was done.

The pukekos meanwhile had been laying waste in the veggie patch and, not content with pulling the potato plants out of the ground, had started digging up the potatoes as well. So new defences were called for!

Wednesday and more windows.

And Dave refines his well-practiced painting technique to apply the second coat in situ.

It was shortly after this that the Second Great Painting Disaster occurred as as a heavy shower (ie downpour) arrived unexpectedly and made rather a mess of the newly applied paint ...

... and left rather more on the windows than the wall itself.
